Paragon Cards - the 19-per-set material behind every AF +2 upgrade - come from one fight: the Happy Caster battlefield in the Navukgo Execution Chamber. Up to six enter; every victor walks out with cards for their own job.
Getting in
| Step | Where |
|---|---|
| Buy a Secret Imperial Order | Shajaf, Aht Urhgan Whitegate — 3,000 Imperial Standing. One per entrant, consumed on entry |
| Reach the burning circle | The Trial of Jobs NPC in the Throne Room hangout teleports you straight there (and reminds you if you forgot the order). The walk-in route is through Mount Zhayolm |
| Enter | Click the Burning Circle, pick Happy Caster. Up to 6 players, 30 minutes |
The Two-faced Flan
One boss, three faces. What hurts it changes; watch its head.
| Smooth (start) | Spikes | Fusion (once, at 25%) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Looks like | a mage — casts constantly | spikes out, casting stops | 60 seconds of panic |
| Hit it with | magic (90% physical block) | melee (90% magic block) | weapon skills — both blocks up |
| Its damage | normal swings + hard nukes | 3x melee | 4.5x melee |
| It switches when | your melee lands after its timer | it uses Xenoglossia | the minute expires |
It never runs out of MP, casts near-instantly in Smooth mode, and regenerates hard in Spikes and Fusion — a party that ignores the mode cycle feeds it. Bring both melee and magic damage, and hold TP for the Fusion minute.
The flan is tuned to the same CL9 band as Dynamis Divergence hardmode, with its magic sharpened further on top. It is a real fight; treat it like one.
The payout
On the win, every member receives 1 to 3 Paragon Cards of their own main job — come on the job whose armor you are upgrading. The retail loot pool (scrolls, materials, Wardancer and friends) drops alongside.
Cards per AF +2 piece: 4 head · 5 body · 3 hands · 4 legs · 3 feet — 19 for a full set, roughly ten wins. The six open-world card NMs (Krabkatoa, Blobdingnag, Orcus, Verthandi, Dawon, Lord Ruthven) still drop job-matched cards too if you prefer hunting Voidwalkers.
Where the cards go
Trade Doreh (Throne Room hangout) the +1 piece, your cards, the slot material, your job's ingredient, and 10 Escha beads. The full material breakdown lives in the Reforge Materials guide.
